Aasia Nasir MNA said “I pressed upon MMA leadership in Quetta to use iron hand against the culprits and adopt necessary measures to protect life and property of Christians in NWFP and Balouchistan provinces” Aasia Nasir is also resident of Quetta city from where Pastor Wilson Fazal was kidnapped three days ago after a warning pamphlet distributed by organization” Frontiers of Jihad against America’ The Pamphlet has warned Wilson Fazal, a Pastor of Pakistan Gospel Assembly serving in Quetta City to stop preaching Christianity and alleged him blaspheming Allaha (God) In pamphlet Christian’s schools, hospitals and churches were blamed of evangelism in Pakistan. The Christians are insisted and asked in this leaflet to join Jihad against America and evangelize Islam. In return the guarantee of safety of their children in Pakistan and large sums of cash are offered when bullets on refusal. The Quetta city have many missionary schools and hospitals established during British Colonial rule in India and till serving all religious communities as leading institutions of Balouchistan. The city has also many churches and Cathedrals built by the British Army as their base to protect north western frontiers of Indian continent ruling. The Christians are only 5% of population of Balouchistan province and majority of them living in City and cantonment areas of Quetta, the provincial capital. On a question, what are your views on government announcements to amend blasphemy laws and Hadood Ordinance when your MMA party leaders have strongly opposed such move by government? Aasia Nasir said’ I am bound to stand by the MMA on all national issues but still I will raise Christians concerns in the MMA parliamentary group meeting on blasphemy laws” Aasia Nasir retreated that Christians in Balouchistan shall not hesitate to go on strikes if any bureaucratic tendencies emerge to delay recovery of Pastor Wilson Fazal.
