I represent Christina community of Islamabad and devoted my life for my community's welfare. After strenuous efforts, I was successful in getting a plot allotted by the CDA (Capital Development Authority) for the construction of Church in Sector G-8/2, Islamabad. The Christian known as Emmanuel Church Committee constituted a committee and after completion of all requirements of CDA we undertook the necessary measures for construction but unfortunately few extremists persons interfered with and took away the material lying on the site. The result was that the CDA restrained us to raise construction. The Committee has no other way out but to approach the court of law against those elements. Keeping in view the supportive documents the court decided the case in favour of the Committee and allowed construction. The CDA issued No Objection Certificate (NOC) and once again we took measures towards construction of the church premises. However, contrary to our expectations some element filed another suit and obtained prohibit orders as a result of which the construction was once again stopped. Since all the legal formalities were complete therefore, the court after listening vacated the prohibit order. However, most unfortunate aspect of the matter is that these elements are constantly hurling threats and have put under constant threats and pressure which is tantamount to depriving us of our constitutional right for building a premises for worship. These elements claim to be the office bearers of Muslim Welfare Society, which neither exists nor even otherwise is a registered society. Their aim is only create harassment and when we approach the law enforcing authorities for help and seeking justice they turn it into political affair with the result that no help is extended to minority. Keeping in view, the present policy of the government having liberal approach particularly in favour of the minority community, we request to the President of Pakistan to intervene into this matter and save us from the highhandedness of the above mentioned few elements who have created terror amongst Christians of the area through their such uncalled for activities. We do hope that your good honour would come to the conclusion that a conditions are definitely in favour of starting construction of the Emmanuel Church building in sector G8/s, Service Road North, Islamabad. So the Church Committee undertook task for building the premises by laying down its foundations. The foundations were dug and necessary material placed on the site of the Church building. I have no other option but to bring to kind notice of your good honour that the above cited persons try to sabotage our legitimate and genuine, by bulldozing whatever work including plennith task was undertaken. They also played havoc with the construction with the construction material worth thousands of rupees placed on the venue. I would most humbly request the President of Pakistan through this newspaper order the concerned authorities to take these elements to severest possible task according to the relevant laws of the land inter alias , by making them to pay us the amount of seventeen thousands/ including labour charges. This would serve us as an eye opener to the violators of the law. Kindly also instruct the concerned quarters to prevent the abovementioned elements for creating any hurdle in process of construction of the church building on the plot allotted for this purpose by the Capital Development Authority.
