Sub:- (i)- India with PM Modi (under influence of Sangh Parivar) bound (if USA is not careful) to exploit Obama’s visit to further the cause of Hindu communalism (ii)- The message of Obama’s 2012 UN speech regarding freedom of expression has not reached India (iii)- India still harass & persecute people (especially minorities) in the name of hate speech (iv)- Notwithstanding law & propaganda, Hinduism does not mean Buddhism Sikhism, Jainism and even lower castes Hindu sects (v)- Like Muslims the Sikhs and Jains are scared to move court for getting justice (vi)- Only Muslim (and not Hindu) terrorists & rioters are booked and prosecuted in India (vii)- Obama should ask US Embassy & Consulates in India to get conducted detailed study on communally prejudiced Indian State
It is happy and welcome news that US president Obama will be chief guest at Republic Day parade at India’s capital Delhi on January 26, 2015. India is specially pleased because being world’s economic and military superpower USA can benefit India in many ways. But Obama will fall into the trap of Communal Hindus if he is not careful because India under PM Modi (under influence of Sangh Parivar) is bound to exploit Obama’s visit to further the cause of Hindu communalism. Therefore Obama should do the following, before coming to Delhi, in view of explained:-
(1)- In modern world of IT revolution, the freedom of expression has acquired wider meaning. Nowadays so many expressions which were considered seditious, harmful etc are considered no more so. When controversy erupted over allegedly a blasphemous video (produced in USA) on Prophet Muhammad, demonstrations took place by Muslims all over the world in which hundreds of Muslims were killed. But Obama was right in refusing to ban this video by saying at UN in 2012 that - “At a time when anyone with a cell phone can spread offensive views around the world with the click of a button, the notion that we can control the flow of information is obsolete”. Obama further said that - “Americans have fought and died around the globe to protect the right of all people to express their views, even views that we profoundly disagree with. We do not do so because we support hateful speech, but because our founders understood that without such protections, the capacity of each individual to express their own views and practice their own faith may be threatened. We do so because in a diverse society, efforts to restrict speech can quickly become a tool to silence critics and oppress minorities.”
(2)- The message of Obama’s this 2012 UN speech regarding freedom of expression has not reached India, with the result frequently so-called hate speeches by Hindus and Muslims (Togadia, yogi Adityanath, Sakhshi Maharaj, Owaisi brothers, Azam Khan etc) are highlighted in media and which triggers communal passions and violence too in various parts of India. Moreover communally prejudiced Indian State still harass & persecute people (especially minorities) in the name of hate speech
(3)- Notwithstanding Hindu matrimonial laws & propaganda [including by inviting religious leaders of different sects of HInduism (including Dalai Lama) at ‘World Hindu Congress 2014’], Hinduism for all practical purpose does not mean Buddhism Sikhism, Jainism and even lower castes Hindu sects (and it means only ‘upper caste- majority-Hinduism’). This is evident from the fact that it is not merely Muslims who are scared in India [Most of the problems faced by Indian Muslims can be solved by filing such and other writ petitions by Muslims in Supreme Court of India (SCI) for - (A)- Restoring the status-quo-ante of Babri Masjid (B)- Getting justice to victims of Gujarat 2002 massacre through writ related to Section 130 & 131 CrPc ( C)- Getting reservation laws (which are discriminatory against Muslims) repealed under Article 13 & 14 of Constitution - But Muslims out of fear do not file these petitions in SCI - but they do not move SCI out of fear of majority - Hindus]
- Even the Sikhs and Jains are scared to move court for getting justice [Sikhs also are not filing writ in SCI related to Section 130 & 131 CrPC regarding 1984 massacre of Sikhs by majority-Hindus at Delhi. And Jains do not have courage to contest court cases properly though in Gujarat (during government of then CM Modi) Jain’s most prominent pilgrim centre (‘Sidh Khshetra Girinarji’) was highhandedly with brute force and violence snatched from Jains by majority-Hindus.
(4)- Only Muslim (and not Hindu) terrorists & rioters are booked and prosecuted in India. Even Owaisi the President of AIMIM said last week on a TV channel that Hindus (found guilty in Sri Krishina Commission report regarding 1992 - 93 riots in Mumbai, after Babri Masjid demolition in December 1992) have not been booked and prosecuted so far [which provides excuse to Muslims across the world especially in Pakistan to defend Dawood Ibrahim and also Abu Salem who carried out serial bomb blast in Mumbai in reaction to said 1992 - 93 riots in which mainly Muslims were killed]. Similarly about bomb blasts in Samjhauta Express and in other places the prosecution has not proceeded against Hindu terrorists with same speed as it happens against Muslim terrorists.
(5)- Indian State is communal in subtle way :-
(i)- Hindu majority Goa was taken by India. But India never tried to retrieve Muslim majority POK and instead has taken out Hindu Kashmiri Pandits from Muslim majority Kashmir valley and has left Muslim Kashmiris at the mercy of military with AFSPA [where Indian military is showing its bravery by training guns and firing at civilian citizens of India]. So-called Hindu majority secular India does not retrieve Muslim POK [whereas on the contrary theocratic Pakistan one sixth of size tried militarily to retrieve Kashmir militarily in 1947, 1948, 1965, 1971, during Kargil etc].
(ii)- It is a shame that even after 67 years of independence there is Article 370 of Constitution (due to unresolved Kashmir problem which has destabilized entire South Asia region) in J&K which unlike other States keeps J&K separate from rest of India in every way. But BJP leaders and Ministers have started talking (especially during current elections in J&K which has aroused strong passions in J&K) about eliminating this Article 370 without anyway intending to retrieve Muslim majority POK (with an evil design to change the demography of Kashmir valley from Muslim majority to Hindu majority and then forget POK, even in meaningless statements about territorial integrity of India).
(iii)- India first fomented troubles in Baudh majority Sri Lanka by inciting Tamils (majority-Hinduism) and then despite sending IPKF in Sri Lanka did nothing to solve Sri Lankan Tamil problem which ultimately ended in LTTE elimination in most brutal way and has resulted in huge number of human right abuses and war crime cases (which are now being dealt by UNHRC).
(iv)- Even Hindu sects of lower castes (as 'Kabir-Panthis' etc) are systematically harassed and persecuted by upper caste-majority-Hinduism. One has to only go to the website of ‘Satlok Ashram’ to find out that how so called hate speech of Baba Rampal against Aryasamaj (Hindu sect of upper caste Hindus) was treated by Indian State which has ended in last week drama by Indian State when it arrested Baba Rampal (though real culprits of Aryasamaj and villagers who attacked Satlok Ashrams in 2006, 2013 etc are not facing any such prosecution and harassment by all the organs of communally prejudiced Indian State).
(6)- Obama can gauge the anger of Sikhs and Muslims against communally prejudiced Indian State by:-
(i)- In the lawsuit, filed by the American Justice Center (AJC) Sikhs have taken immense interest. AJC filed lawsuit (for Muslims) in a federal court in New York which issued summons in September 2014 against the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged role in presiding over the anti-Muslim pogrom in Gujarat during 2002 when he was Chief Minister of the state
(ii)- Imam Bukhari of Jama Masjid Delhi sent invitation (for anointing ceremony of his son as Deputy - Imam) to Pakistan PM Nawaz for November, 29 but not to Indian PM Modi ( as an expression of anger against Modi, allegedly for his anti - Muslim mindset & policies)
(iii)- Azam Khan the Home Minister of U.P [a State of ~ 200 million population with officially 18.4 % (unofficially 20 % including illegal immigrants) Muslims in it ] said on Friday on TV channels ( as an expression of anger of Muslims against Indian State) that money for grand birthday celebration of SP President Mulayam Singh has been provided by Taliban, Dawood Ibrahim, Abu Salem and other terrorists
(7)- Obama should also understand that if professedly moderate PM Vajpayee (without absolute majority of BJP in Loksabha) could be used by ‘Sangh Parivar’ (BJP, RSS, VHP, Bajrangdal etc) for carrying out Gujarat 2002 massacre of thousands of innocent Muslims, [ where then PM Vajpayee helplessly ended only in issuing sermons to then CM Modi on ‘Rajdharma’ (State Religion)]. - then what can be done by Sangh Parivar [who’s VHP leader Ashok Singhal has said on Friday at ‘World Hindu Congress 2014’ that - “ the last Hindu ruler in Delhi was Prithviraj Chauhan and it is after 800 years that Delhi is being governed by proud (Swabhimani) Hindus] ” with professedly hardliner PM Modi is any body’s guess, [especially with absolute majority of BJP in Loksabha, notwithstanding Modi using the red-herring of ‘sabka sath sabka vikas’ (inclusive growth)]
Therefore Obama (before coming to India and during his visit to India in January 2015) should (i)- not only ask India to repeal (in consonance with ICCPR of UN) all the laws which considers freedom of expression (including hate speech) as criminal offence (ii)- but also should ask US Embassy & Consulates in India to get conducted detailed study on communally prejudiced Indian State (especially by contacting the social, political, business, religious leaders of Buddhism Sikhism, Jainism and even lower castes Hindu sects). - Otherwise India with PM Modi (under influence of Sangh Parivar) is bound (if USA is not thus careful) to exploit Obama’s this visit to further the cause of the communalism of ‘upper caste - majority - Hinduism’
