Historic achievements of BJP Govt. in the Centre during four years of its rule? By Prof.Bhim Singh
Four years’ rule of BJP Govt. at the Centre is celebrating its rule through the state controlled electronic media and the press, may be trying to prepare BJP’s manifesto for the next parliamentary election. BJP is in full control over the state run media and enjoys support of private media to a greater extent. So much so that the people, the intelligentsia even some political parties do not find a space in the national newspapers to convey their views to the people. Some of the Union Ministers find enormous space in the media, at the cost of the state, to glorify four years achievements of what they call ‘Modi sarkar’. Some of them who are keeping a low key in beating the drums for Modi achievements may have realized the consequences they shall meet during the next parliamentary elections in India.
BJP made loud promises and main was integration of J&K with the rest of the country. BJP had been accusing the Congress and its allies for the failures of the previous governments concerning to the development and particularly in relation to the constitutional arrangements of the Union governments with the State of J&K which has not been fully integrated with the rest of the country. Article 370 in the Constitution of India according to the BJP and its mentor (RSS) was its fate. They carried National emotional appeal during the past elections for the abrogation of Article 370 and full integration of the State of J&K which was left out from the list of integration by the Constituent Assembly while framing the Constitution. The BJP national agenda was only abrogration of Article 370. Article 35(A) was another obstacle in the Constitution of India which was inserted in the Constitution in 1954 by the then President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. This step made government of J&K superior constitutionally over the Parliament of India. The Parliament of India was deprived under Article 35 to make any change in the Chapter of Fundamental Rights whereas the President of India had inserted 35(A) empowering J&K Govt. to demolish the effects of Chapter-III of the Constitution of India depriving the citizens of India residing in J&K of any or all fundamental rights. This is the State Affairs in J&K. All citizens of India in J&K have remained denied of their fundamental rights till date. The BJP leadership, in power today, had made millions of declarations that party shall abrogate Article 370 and integrate the State of J&K with the rest of the country. It is important to know that 576 states had signed the Instrument of Accession including the State of J&K. 575 were integrated by the Constituent Assembly. When Constitution of India was announced on 26th January, 1950, it was shocking that J&K was kept out of the list of integrated states. Who is to be blamed? That is one issue. But today the issue before the people of India including J&K has to be what BJP government at the Centre has been doing in this regard? Counting achievements through the government sponsored media or its ministers means nothing. Can Modi ji answer one question which entire nation is asking today? Why there is bloodshed in J&K? Where are the promises made by the BJP before contesting parliamentary election? Why BJP ministers in J&K are using a flag which is meant only for the local residents of J&K? Why BJP government in J&K is hoisting a separate flag on the Secretariats in Jammu and Kashmir? What is the relationship of the State of J&K with the rest of the country? Why all the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of India are denied to the Indian citizens in J&K? Where are the promises made by Modi and his government that the BJP shall integrate State of J&K with the rest of the country ensuring one flag, one constitution for the entire country from Kanyakumari to Kashmir? The Modi government before beating the drums about their great or grave achievements should answer this question why the security of India is under threat along 778 kms. of long borders with Pakistan including international border as well as Line of Control. Shall Modi satisfy his own party about its stand to rule J&K without the support of the people?
In my estimate this is the greatest achievement of Modi sarkar which has failed to provide security to more than 12 million citizens of India residing in the State of J&K. Modi sarkar must answer about its performance and about its achievements it has made in the State of J&K before beating the drums of its so-called achievements in four years. The security of the state has gone alarming in four years than ever it was. The prices of the essential commodities have gone out of control. The prices of petrol and diesel could not be manned by the Modi government effecting the wretched of the earth even. Educational institutions manned by the state have been wrecked and more than million children are begging in the streets of India. New Delhi, the capital of India has more than 15000 begging children, seen in every street of Delhi from the skirts of Raj Bhawan to Raj Ghat. What Modi sarkar has contributed to ensure social security to the wretched of the earth? A light indication the great electorates of India have given in 11 constituencies alone. The opposition parties in the country should go for a common agenda and common movement to provide security to the people of India and ensure equality, equity, peace and application of all fundamental rights to every citizen of India from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.
