Human Rights Commission of Pakistan took out a big rally of peasants which marched from Old Campus to press club. It was participated by hundreds of peasant’s women and men. Rally converged at press club where leaders of PHRC, members of civil society and peasants’ leaders addressed the rally. Speakers demanded to abolish feudalism and capitalism with increase in wages for working class in view of ever-increasing inflation; the powers under tenancy act be transferred from bureaucracy to judiciary.

Addressing rally HRCP general secretary Haris Khaliq demanded revenue department officials failing to include names of peasants in Khusra Form 6 of revenue record should be punished. He demanded insurance of peasants and crop they raise. He condemned forcibly conversion of religion and whisking away of people. He asked government to play its role to control above violations of law. HRCP leadedr I.A.Rehman said after long struggle of Hari leader Hyder Bux Jatoi Sindh Tenancy Act was passed and that after long time Sindh High Court has issued orders to implement the act. But he deplored Sindh government instead of implementing same was considering to file petition in SHC. He said people were aware while rulers were sleeping. He said we demand form Sindh government not to go in appeal but follow court orders to provide relief to downtrodden peasants. He said no authority has right to whisk away young people and them forcibly disappear them.

Hila Jilani sister of late HRCP leader Asma Jeelani, said Asma had done more for rights of peasants and working class. She made lot of successes in her sgtruggle but our struggle still continues.

She said in our country people are kidnapped, employment and bread are snatched. She said though Asma Jehangir was no more among them but her theory and HRCP are with us. Asad Iqbal said rights are not taken by begging but got by snatching. He demanded to stop whisking away of people. He said Jagirdars, capitalists and Establishment where are one page and whenever anyone stands up against tyranny and cruelties, they block such voice and people raising voices are termed under sedition. He said establishment has brought country to the blink of devastation. He demanded to produce such whisked away missing persons in courts of law.

Rally was also addressed by HRCP coordinator of Sindh professor Imdad Chandio, professor Badar Soomro, Taj Mari, Farooq Soomro, Mahesh Kumar, Sorath Lohar, Mehboob Qureshi and other were present in rally.
