Christian majority USA should live up to pro- human-rights Christian values in Afghanistan. By Hem Raj Jain

Instead of relying on communal Pakistan, after May 9 terrorist attack in Kabul on children (mostly girls), US-Congress & Prez Biden should think of bringing Afghanistan under UN-Trusteeship
It is hoped that the blast at school on May 9, 2021 in the Afghan capital Kabul in which 68 (mostly girls) have been killed and 165 are seriously injured by militant Jihadis (as reported at
https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/afghan-school-blast-toll-rises-58-families-bury-victims-2021-05-09/ ) will arouse the inner conscience of the USA, cutting across the party lines in a bipartisan manner.
No doubt the USA which has already spent 20 years after 9/11, can’t be expected to remain permanently in Afghanistan hence like earlier US-administrations the Biden-administration is also trying to come out of Afghanistan. But in this hurry to leave Afghanistan the USA is contemplating a solution which is worse than the problem where the USA is trying to hand-over Afghanistan in the hands of the communal Taliban on the guarantee of another communal country, Pakistan.
What will happen in Afghanistan, when the USA is out of it in this manner, should be clear from what happened on May 9 in Kabul where majority Sunni terrorists killed the children of minority Shia community and such terrorist attacks have not in the past and will not be in the future confined to minority communities only. No doubt the solution is not simple for the USA especially given the fact that India could have helped in normalizing the situation in Afghanistan but India is also more a problem than solution in Afghanistan due to three reasons:-
(i)- India erroneously thinks that (unlike the USA) when India did not raise guns for itself for its independence against Britishers (rather got it through so-called non-violence) then why should India raise guns for others (though it is a different matter that in 'non-violent independence struggle' India was trifurcated and during partition about 1 million were killed and about 15 million displaced in gory situation which has communalized the Indian subcontinent up to even this day)
(ii)- Presently in de-jure secular but de-facto communal India the Indian Muslims including Kashmiris do not trust or believe in secularism of Hindu majority India hence how Afghans will believe in secular credentials of India.
(iii)- Without taking any responsibility worth the name for normalizing Afghanistan, India wants to keep a foothold in Afghanistan also in order to use the territory of Afghanistan for harassing its arch rival (rather enemy) Pakistan.
Therefore there is only one solution in the given circumstances namely to bring Afghanistan under UN-Trusteeship under Article 75 of Chapter XII of United Nations Charter which reads as “The United Nations shall establish under its authority an international trusteeship system for the administration and supervision of such territories as may be placed thereunder by subsequent individual agreements. These territories are hereinafter referred to as trust territories”.
Under Article 77-1-C of UN Charter (which reads as "The trusteeship system shall apply to such territories in the following categories as may be placed thereunder by means of trusteeship agreements: territories voluntarily placed under the system by states responsible for their administration”) the USA should ask Afghanistan Government to place Afghanistan under UN Trusteeship. It hardly needs any mention that under this UN Trusteeship Afghanistan should be run under Federal-Secular-Democratic constitution which will hardly take more than 5 years to bring peace, prosperity and justice to Afghanistan.
Afghanistan is bound to benefit about the basic objectives of the trusteeship system as per Article 76 of UN Charter, namely - “ To promote the political, economic, social, and educational advancement of the inhabitants of the trust territories, and their progressive development towards self-government and to encourage respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion”.
It is hoped that after knowing what has happened to children (mostly girls) in May 9 blast in Afghan’s capital, the Christian majority USA will live up to pro- human-rights Christian values in Afghanistan and (instead of leaving Afghanistan in the hands of Taliban by relying on communal Pakistan) the USA will bring Afghanistan under UN-Trusteeship as mentioned above in the interest of bringing permanent peace, prosperity and justice to profusely bleeding & weeping Afghanistan (despite US presence of 20 years in Afghanistan).
