*DEMOCRACY” By Stephen Gill, anti-war poet

To tackle international anarchy, democracy is the most suitable form of government. Democracy invites every group to share power with the government, providing opportunities for everyone to participate in the formation of the government to frame policies which are in the interest of everyone. Democracy gives diverse voices to diverse citizens. It is based on liberalism which is based on justice.
Moreover democracies do not make war preparations. They do not make wars. Democracies settle disputes with ballots. Democracy is the most suitable form of government for any nation that is multicultural like Canada and India. Multiculturalism, also called pluralism, is an enriching factor. It provides a base for the experiences on which the world can build its future and also can add zest to life. Multiculturalism is sharing and widening of the knowledge to the boundaries of other cultures and faiths. Multiculturalism is the spirit of realizing that there are also other beauties and this recognition removes the fear of the unknown. The globe of today is not the globe of yesterday because there is physical, material and scientific unity as it was never before. Due to the advancement in transportation, people keep moving rapidly from one area to another for employment and other purposes. Everywhere, there are people of diverse creeds, colors, customs and traditions. Due to the speed of transportation, various nations live face to face. Not only this, they depend on one another for existence.
In the landscape of multiculturalism, citizens of the world have to learn to live with the followers of other faiths and if there are conflicts, learn to settle them in democratic ways. Democracy is tolerance and tolerance leads to security and security brings prosperity. Those who advocate that security comes from the mouth of a gun or from terrorism do not have their eyes wide open to know that force is not the answer to solve a problem. Russia even with all its awesome power could not eradicate churches and synagogues. The state oppression of the communists of Poland could not crush the devotion of the people to Catholic Church.
What the world needs today is a platform for dialogue. The spirit or champion of democracy was mentioned by the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau while introducing the president of Ukrain, Volodymyr

I have written some poems on democracy. I plan to select two or three on different days. Please find one below:
THE VOICE OF DEMOCRACY
--Stephen Gill, anti-war poet
Every storm of this age
seems to overpower me
the tornadoes of today
arise to destroy my ship
the rage of the rising tides
holds its grudge against me
the babbles of the noises
seduce me into the stream of chaos.
Yet
as a tower of trust I stand
in vastness of the fuming waves.
I am aware of the dangers
from the east and the west.
I know
I am bombarded brutally
by the bullies of the egoistic beliefs.
Still
I shall continue fighting for rights
3-democracy
holding the shield of light.
On my behalf
someone should inform the winds
that no one should ever dare
to rend my mast.
All the thunders and groans
I have courage to face alone.
Stirring the waters of time
I fashion my life
on the open deck of justice.
I keep postponing Armageddon
with my strength
in diversity, tolerance and patience.
I find the Hope Diamonds of freedoms
on the ocean bed of wisdom.
