New Delhi: Urgent ‘Online Meeting’ was held by Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of J&K Panthers Trade Union to express solidarity with All India Coordination Committee of Trade Unions (AICCTU) which is organizing all India protest against abrogation of labour laws in the country on 12th & 13th May, 2020. The Panthers Trade Union leaders from all over Jammu & Kashmir urged the President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind for his urgent intervention to ensure that super emergency is not allowed to operate in Jammu & Kashmir by the ruling party. The Panthers Trade Union (PTU) described this step of the Union Government as worse than slavery rather extreme step to impose emergency by trampling of workers’ rights taking benefit of lockdown in the country.

The Trade Union leaders from Kashmir, Ladakh & Jammu Province took a hard decision that they shall oppose this kind of dictatorial & anti labourer law from the streets to the Supreme Court of India as this has violated all Fundamental Rights enshrined in Chapter-III of the Indian Constitution besides the labour laws in the country.

Prof. Bhim Singh expressed solidarity with the working class from Kanyakumari to Kashmir & Nagaland to Dwarka.

Prof. Bhim Singh who is also Senior Advocate, former Senior Executive Member of the Supreme Court of the India & Executive Chairman of State Legal Aid Committee strongly condemned the hierarchy of the Union leadership for threatening the Journalists/Correspondents writing for Indian Express and even issuing emergency notice to Mr. Mahender Singh Marnal and disclose the source of information in connection with the story published in the Indian Express.

Prof. Bhim Singh said that this kind of notice by Delhi Police to the Journalists working for the Indian Express is highly dictatorial and violates all the Fundamental Rights and the freedom of Press which has not been threatened that far during the emergency in 1975. The National Panthers Party founder expressed full support to and solidarity with the Journalists/Correspondents of the Indian Express and assured support from the streets to the Supreme Court with the Journalists assuring that the freedom of Press and information shall not be allowed to be mutilated at any cost.

Prof. Bhim Singh also urged Mr. Ramnath Kovind, the President of India for his intervention to save the freedom of press and the Fundamental Rights of the Journalists which have been threatened by the Union Government.
