MQM observes Martyrs Day in cities of Sindh

Karachi: December 9, 2016. (PCP) After clashes with police and arrests by Sindh Rangers in Karachi, MQM workers successfully hoisted MQM flags on Khan Liaquat Ali Chowk and recited Holy Quran to pay homage to their martyrs in Azizabad. The police fired teargas shell and shots in air to disperse MQM activists who gathered to march towards Pakka Qila in Hyderabad to mark martyrs day also. MQM London Coordination Committee have given call to observe Martyrs Day in Pakistan to remember those who sacrificed their lives for unity and solidarity Mohajirs in military operations against them. Rangers detained six activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) as they tried to hoist their party flag and write slogans at the Liaquat Ali Khan Chowk, formerly known as Mukka Chowk. Party workers turned violent as the two MQM chapters, London and Pakistan, gathered on Friday to remember their martyrs in Azizabad, where the now sealed MQM headquarters were located. Police and Rangers baton charged to disperse workers who raised party slogans. Additional contingents of Rangers, police and commandos were called in as the situation deteriorated. Urdu speaking community again proved that they are united under leadership of Founder of MQM and can foil conspiracies to divide them in different factions.
