New Delhi: March 8, 2017. (PCP) NPP observed Women Day at several places in India with a clear message that Indian democracy is flourishing with equal rights for all citizens of India irrespective of their caste, religion or sex. In a message, Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party congratulated the women chiefs of Panthers Party from Kashmir to Kanyakumari for organizing Women Day in spirit of the international women’s day all over world. At Jammu women day was celebrated by the Women Commission presided by Ms. Anita Thakur which regretted that J&K is the only State in India where women have not granted equitable or equal rights with that of men. She said that Article 14 which guarantees equal rights and equal protection under the Constitution does not exist in the State of J&K as the girls from Jammu and Kashmir married to an Indian does not enjoy same rights of inheritance. The children born to a ‘daughter’ of J&K outside the State do not enjoy any right to inheritance in the State. Ms.Anita Thakur also expressed hope that daughters of J&K should be given equal right and their children should be granted the equal right under Constitution as Article 14 does provide. In Delhi, a women meeting of the Panthers Party activists was held at Jantar Mantar under the leadership of Mrs. Sudesh Dogra, Political Secretary of NPP which raised the voice that the daughters of J&K should be granted the same constitutional right and right of inheritance if they get married outside the state. Similar meetings were organized of the Panthers Party in Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and other places.
