Investiture ceremony of Gender Champions Club at GGSCW 26
Chandigarh: September 18, 2017. (PCP) The Investiture Ceremony for members of Gender Champions Club was organized on September 18, 2017 at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women. The club was conceptualized in the College under the guidelines of MHRD and UGC to create gender awareness among students in institutions. Gender Champions were given badges with a pledge to promote the cause of gender equality and sensitization in the campus and community. A special lecture was organized to educate the students on “Reproductive Health of Young Girls”. Dr Madhu Gupta, Additional Professor of Community Medicine, School of Public Health PGIMER, Chandigarh enlightened the students on key areas of reproductive health along with women’s “reproductive rights”. She emphasized on making informed choices in all walks of life by being able to say “No”.
Principal, Dr Charanjeet Kaur Sohi, accorded a floral welcome to the esteemed guest and appreciated her work and efforts towards the community. Dr Manipal Kaur, Nodal Officer Gender Champions Club offered the vote of thanks.
