Chandigarh: October 2, 2017. (PCP) A fifteen day long 'Swachhta Pakhwara' was organised at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh under the aegis of Government of India from 15th September, 2017 to 1st October, 2017. Various activities were undertaken by the college students and the NSS volunteers to clean the college campus and iconic places in the city like Sukhna Lake. Activities like Slogan Writing, Essay Writing, Declamation Contest and Nukkad Natak were organised to generate awareness about the benefits of clean, healthy and hygienic surroundings.
The drive concluded on 2nd October, 2017 with cultural activities by NSS volunteers on the theme "Swachhta and Digital India" and Gandhi Ji's Principles. College Principal Dr. Charanjeet Kaur Sohi commended the girls on their enthusiastic performances and motivated them to contribute generously towards making India a better place to live.
